Follow the main quest line, and you will find a new mode of transportation that will do that for you. If you do not, you cannot go any further.

gate of pain is farther. The one you're thinking of is Gate of Desolation.

This is a link to the junundu wurm skills which replace your skill bar when riding them, also found on wiki. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Junundu
Please take note that one of the skills says 'leave junundu', so uh...don't push that while you're in the environmental effect unless you want to become a dead body :P |

Even if you click it when your in the sulfurous wastes I don't believe it will let you exit unless you are on the kind of terrain that you can walk on.

I must have still been close enough to a patch that it got me then. :/ Sometimes even if you're still a wurm, melee hero/hench will stray onto terrain while fighting and then auto leave their wurm. If you don't notice, they like to follow you and die. :/

Hmm, thats weird. For me sometimes when I first enter a wurm they don't enter with me...so I usually move back and forth a bit and sometimes they enter it automatically. Not every time though...its irritating when I have to leave the wurm and get back in it for them.

That's what happens to me too. I have to either: 1. remain stationary at wurm spoor (without clicking it) until all the hero hench are standing with me (no laggers that run late to me) 2. or I have to leave junundu and re-enter them :/
Oh, and then there are the times that they die as humans on the yellow sulfer and I'm alive as a wurm on the uneffected sand...and so I have to leave junundu, rez them and then go back to the spoor and get back into a wurm...unless you forgot rez, then you have to kill yourself to be transferred to a rez shrine...I had to do that a few times.. :/ |

I put the hard res on my heroes into slot 8 and keep it disabled. This prevents me from forgetting and them doing something weird when in the wurm. Now, if there was a way to do that for the henchmen....
I found that putting the main party flag on the Wurm Spoor makes the heroes and henchies bunch up and they normally all get swallowed by the wurms without problem. It is quite annoying to use the Wurm Spoor and take off into the wastes without realizing that one was missed. Well, until they die following you on foot, that is. |

i have a related question.
a friend of mine desperetly wants a hyena pet, i told him i found some after the bone palace and that he needs to do more missions to acces it. he was convinced that he didn't need worms to acces the palace, so to prove him wrong i worked my way to the bone palace gates without using worms, the gates where locked. so is there another way in? maybe a glitch or something. or can he find hyenas in a different place?... he's very impatient and doesn't want to do so many missions to reach it. |
